GOVERNMENT FUNDING APPROVED
Obama signs appropriations bill, sets safety budgets for FY 2014

Washington – A $1 trillion appropriations bill, signed by President Barack Obama on Jan. 17, funds the federal government – including safety agencies – for the remainder of the current fiscal year (which ends Sept. 30).
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014 includes the following budgets:
- OSHA: $552.3 million
- Mine Safety and Health Administration: $375.9 million
- Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement: $78.7 million
- NIOSH: $180.3 million
- Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission: $16.4 million
- Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission: $11.4 million
